FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
BARRY MOORE APPLAUDS TRUMP ORDER PRIORITIZING U.S. PHARMACEUTICAL PRODUCTION,
“THIS PRESIDENT UNDERSTANDS THAT WE HAVE TO ‘BUY AMERICAN’ TO STAND ON OUR OWN”
Enterprise, AL–AL-2 Republican nominee Barry Moore expressed his satisfaction at President Trump’s executive order that prioritizes American-made drug purchasing and production over foreign companies. The executive order directs the Department of Health and Human Services to use the Defense Production Act to buy essential medicines and other equipment from within the United States. The FDA and the EPA are also directed to give priority to domestic manufacturers during the regulatory review of pharmaceutical ingredients and essential medicines.
The President signed the executive order Thursday during a visit to a Whirlpool manufacturing plant in Clyde, Ohio.
Barry Moore said in a statement:
“This President understands that we have to ‘Buy American’ if we’re going to stand on our own. This latest executive order is just one more step in what he’s doing to restore American industry and American jobs. The Globalists and their Deep State cronies were allowed to run amok for too long, and we saw just how dangerous that can be a few months ago when China threatened to shut down our medical supply lines.
“The Whirlpool plant the President visited on Thursday added 200 American jobs as a result of President Trump’s actions. Now he’s moving to protect our essential medicines just like he’s started protecting our manufacturing from unfair competition from overseas, especially China.
“I fully support this President’s actions in supporting our American manufacturers and industry. As the Congressman from District 2, I look forward to working with President Trump to create more American jobs for American workers across District 2, and all across America.”
Barry Moore is the Republican nominee for the AL-2 Congressional seat currently held by Martha Roby, who is retiring. The general election will be held on November 3rd. Moore is a small businessman, Veteran, husband, and father of four from Enterprise.
