FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n BARRY MOORE SIGNS POLICE PLEDGE,<\/strong><\/span> Enterprise, AL–AL-2 Congressional candidate Barry Moore reaffirmed his strong support for law enforcement Monday by signing the Police Pledge before a group of supporters. The Police Pledge states that \u201cA lawful society\u2014free from mob rule and violent insurrection\u2014is not possible without Law Enforcement. Police Officers have chosen a noble profession. They dedicate their lives to upholding the law and protecting the sacred rights of their fellow citizens. As a profession, they deserve support and respect. I stand with America\u2019s Police and pledge to oppose any bill, resolution, or movement to \u201cDefund the Police.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Heritage Action for America is sponsoring the Police Pledge, and as of Monday 5 U.S. Senators, 54 U.S. House members, 2 Governors, 67 State Officials, and over 37,000 Citizens had signed the pledge, according to the Heritage Action web site.<\/span><\/p>\n Moore said in a statement:<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cIt was easy for me to decide to sign the Police Pledge. Our law enforcement officers do tremendous work on our behalf, often in dangerous situations where emotions are running high and tempers are flaring. We owe them our full support and our thanks.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThe last few weeks have shown us just how important our police are to our society, and how much we rely on them in times of crisis. The Left has been screaming for months to \u2018defund the police\u2019, saying \u2018we can defend ourselves\u2019. Then, the minute something happens they scream for the police. Well, by then it\u2019s too late. The hypocrisy of the Left, and the shameless way they try to take both sides of this issue, is mind-blowing.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThe Democrat\u2019s refusal to support our police officers has brought us to this point. Our cities are being destroyed, and it\u2019s mainly Democrat-run cities that are suffering the most. I\u2019m saddened that the citizens of those cities have to bear the brunt of failed liberal policies, and pray every day for them and the police who are trying so hard to protect them despite being hamstrung by their leaders.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI always have, and I always will, support law enforcement, and will always resist efforts to defund the police. I\u2019m truly looking forward to taking part in the Back the Blue event in Dothan on Saturday, Sept. 12th.
