FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE<\/span><\/p>\n \n BARRY MOORE CONDEMNS ATTACK ON KENYA BASE, ENCOURAGES NATION TO SUPPORT TROOPS<\/span><\/p>\n \n Enterprise, AL– <\/span>Barry Moore, candidate for Congress in Alabama\u2019s 2nd Congressional district, today condemned the Sunday attack on a U.S. base in Kenya that claimed the life of an American soldier based at Ft. Rucker.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n \n 23-year-old Henry \u201cMitch\u201d Mayfield Jr., an Army Specialist from the Chicago area, was one of three people killed in the attack.\u00a0 Two other Defense contractors were also killed. Their names have not yet been released by the Department of Defense.<\/span><\/p>\n \n The attack was carried out by al-Shabab Islamic extremists in retaliation for the U.S. strike that killed Iranian Qasem Soleimani, the head of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps-Quds Force.<\/span><\/p>\n \n Barry Moore said in a statement:<\/span><\/p>\n \n \u201cI want to honor this young man for his service and his sacrifice, and ask that we all keep his family in our prayers.\u00a0 The terrorists who committed this horrible act need to be brought to justice as soon as possible, and I\u2019m certain that\u2019s being addressed right now.<\/span><\/p>\n \n \u201cEvery service member, and every Veteran who\u2019s served, knows that they put their lives on the line every day that they wear that uniform.\u00a0 Our military and our Veterans deserve our full support, and we all need to work together to make sure they have it.<\/span><\/p>\n \n \u201cAs a Veteran, supporting our military has always been a priority for me.\u00a0 Whether they\u2019re currently serving or served in the past, we owe it to them to keep our promises to them.\u00a0 As your Congressman, I\u2019ll continue to support them, because their willingness to make the ultimate sacrifice is what keeps the rest of us safe.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n \n Barry Moore is the only Veteran running to replace retiring Martha Roby in the AL-2 race.\u00a0 For more information and to follow his campaign, go to BarryMooreForCongress.com<\/a> or on Facebook and Twitter @BarryMooreForCongress.<\/span><\/p>\n \n
