FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
BARRY MOORE ON USMCA SIGNING:
“THIS IS WHAT WE CAN DO FOR OUR COUNTRY WHEN DEMOCRATS WORK WITH REPUBLICANS”
Enterprise, AL–Barry Moore, Congressional candidate in Alabama’s 2nd District, was enthusiastic in his praise of the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) that President Trump signed Wednesday.
The agreement replaces the 1994 North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) and completes a campaign promise made by then-candidate Trump.
Moore also commented on the bipartisan support that the final version of the Agreement had in both House and Senate.
Barry Moore said in a statement:
“Today our President made good on another of his promises and replaced NAFTA with a better deal. USMCA encourages companies to invest in American jobs and American workers and will reduce the outsourcing of jobs to Mexico. It will also open up Canada to more American farm products and strengthens protections for our technology companies and content creators.
“USMCA passed the Senate 89 to 10 earlier this month. It took a year of negotiations between Nancy Pelosi and the White House to reach an agreement both sides could support, but they got there.
“This agreement is just one example of what we can do for our country when Democrats and Republicans work together. President Reagan knew this, and President Trump knows this.
“If the Democrats stop trying to undo the results of the 2016 election and start working more with our duly-elected President, we can see more pro-America bills like USMCA become law. It’s sad to say, but I don’t see that happening even after this impeachment mess is resolved when the President is exonerated.
“I’m looking forward to joining Congress to support a re-elected President Donald Trump and represent District 2 the way it needs to be represented–with honesty, integrity, and courage.”
Barry Moore is running to replace Congresswoman Martha Roby, who is retiring. Moore is a past member of the Alabama House, a Veteran, and a small businessman. He and his wife, Heather, have four children. Moore will be on the ballot in the Republican primary on March 3rd.
