FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

BARRY MOORE ENDORSED BY EAGLE FORUM

Enterprise, AL–Barry Moore, Republican candidate to replace retiring incumbent Martha Roby as Alabama’s 2nd District congressman, has been endorsed by the Eagle Forum.  Founded by Phyllis Schlafly in 1972, the Eagle Forum is one of the nation’s premier pro-family conservative groups. Through its Eagle Forum PAC, it supports candidates who are committed to a conservative philosophy of limited government, national sovereignty, and traditional values.

In announcing the endorsement, Eagle Forum President Eunie Smith stated,

”America needs statesmen who will vote on Constitutional principles to protect the next generation instead of mere politicians whose primary goal is to be re-elected. We expect Mr. Moore to be such a statesman.”

The endorsement went on to highlight Moore’s tenure in the Alabama House, saying ‘his service there rightfully earned him the reputation as the most conservative legislator. We have no doubt that this experience coupled with his determination to address our nation’s challenges at the federal level renders him well qualified.’

Furthermore, ‘As a small businessman himself, we are confident that he will continue to be a defender of small business, the lifeblood of our economy.’

Barry Moore said in a statement:

“I’m proud and humbled to be endorsed by the Eagle Forum.  We share many of the same values, like respect for family integrity, liberty, personal responsibility, limited government, and private enterprise.

“These basic conservative values, now more than ever, are what we rely on to keep America strong.  I’ve fought for them before, and I’ll continue to fight for them through this virus pandemic and on into Congress.”

Moore’s campaign had been heavily focused on grassroots efforts, but he has recently adapted his strategy to be fully compliant with the White House’s social distancing recommendations.  The campaign has canceled essentially all face to face events and is instead using frequent Facebook live streams and other online and social media tools in an ‘online grassroots’ effort to continue reaching out to voters.

Moore will be on the ballot in the Republican runoff election which has been rescheduled from March 31 to July 14.

Moore is a former member of the Alabama House, a Veteran, and a small businessman from Enterprise.  He and his wife have four children.
