BARRY MOORE GRATEFUL GENERAL FLYNN CHARGES DROPPED BY DOJ,
CHARGES WERE “POLITICALLY-MOTIVATED PERJURY TRAP”
Enterprise, AL–AL-2 Congressional candidate Barry Moore compared his own experience in 2014 to that of Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn in speaking about Thursday’s decision by the Department of Justice to dismiss the government’s case against Gen. Flynn. Moore was found not guilty by a Lee County jury on four counts of perjury and giving false statements in October 2014.
Timothy Shea, U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia, made the announcement about Gen. Flynn in a 20-page court filing Thursday afternoon. According to the filing, “The United States of America hereby moves to dismiss with prejudice the criminal information filed against Michael T. Flynn. The Government has determined, pursuant to the Principles of Federal Prosecution and based on an extensive review and careful consideration of the circumstances, that continued prosecution of this case would not serve the interests of justice.”
Barry Moore said in a statement:
“I’m grateful to learn that the charges against General Flynn have been dropped. Having gone through a politically-motivated perjury trap myself in 2014, I know the toll it takes on a man and his family. As I said back then, the truth is easy to tell and easy to understand.
I’m glad in this case, as in mine, the truth was revealed and justice prevailed. I’m praying for the Flynn family that God restores them the way He has my family. God used this storm in my life to break me, shape me, then MAKE me. I believe our best days are ahead of us. God bless General Flynn and his family and God bless America!”
Barry Moore was re-elected to the Alabama House in November 2014 following his acquittal and was the first Elected Official to endorse Donald Trump for President in 2015.
Barry Moore is currently seeking election to Congress from Alabama’s Second District. He is on the ballot in the Republican runoff election rescheduled for July 14th. Moore is a small businessman, veteran, husband, and father of four from Enterprise.
