BARRY MOORE ON COACH PAT DYE:
“HE WAS ONE OF THE GREATS IN HIS FIELD”
Enterprise, AL–Auburn alumni and Congressional candidate Barry Moore spoke today about the death of former Auburn Head Football Coach Pat Dye.
Coach Dye passed away Monday morning in Auburn.
Barry Moore said in a statement:
“I was saddened to hear about Coach Dye’s passing this morning. Everyone in Alabama knew him, and those who knew him well knew what a fine person he was.
“He will be remembered not only as a great coach but as a legendary figure who stood shoulder to shoulder with Bear Bryant in the greatest college football rivalry in the country. Even more than that, the impact he had on the lives of his players and others means that his legacy of leadership continues to live on.
“I knew Coach Dye, but not nearly as well as I’d have liked. I do know that he will be sorely missed.”
Barry Moore holds a Bachelor’s in Agricultural Science from Auburn. He is a candidate in the Republican congressional runoff election in Alabama’s District 2 on July 14th. He is a former member of the Alabama Legislature, a small businessman, a veteran, and a husband and father of four from Enterprise.
