FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
BARRY MOORE THANKS SUPPORTERS FOR AL-2 RUNOFF VICTORY,
PLEDGES CONTINUED SUPPORT FOR CONSERVATIVE VALUES, PRESIDENT TRUMP
Enterprise, AL–AL-2 presumptive Republican nominee thanked his supporters Tuesday evening and pledged to continue supporting conservative values and President Trump’s agenda as he prepares for the general election in November.
With 100% of boxes reporting, Moore defeated Dothan businessman Jeff Coleman by 60% to 40%. Final vote tallies will not be certified for several days.
Barry Moore said in a statement:
“I want to give all of the glory to God. This has been a prayerful campaign. Psalm 37:5 says, ‘Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this: He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn, your vindication like the noonday sun.’ Many said we couldn’t do this, but together with God’s grace, we’ve done it. I want to thank everyone who worked so hard to get us to this point. This has been the strangest election I think any of us have ever been involved in, but now that we have our Republican ticket in place it’s time to look towards November.
“I want to thank those who endorsed me, and I pledge to continue to justify your faith in me by continuing to stand strong for the conservative values that have served me so well thus far.
“Don’t expect my message to change. I’ll continue to support this President. I’ll continue to support liberty, freedom, life, and family. I’ll continue to stand for small government, sane spending, reasonable regulations, and all of the rights guaranteed us by our Constitution.
“I look forward to being on the ballot with President Donald J. Trump and all our other Republican nominees. We know that the Democrats will do everything in their power to defeat this President and keep Doug Jones in the Senate, and we can’t allow either of those things to happen. I want to ask all of Mr. Coleman’s supporters to stand with me as we deliver the strongest Republican vote in District 2 in history. Our President, our party, our nation, and we need your support.
“I especially want to thank my wife Heather and my children. I’ve depended on them every day, and that won’t change going forward. My grassroots team, led by Sherry McCormick, did an incredible job. I also want to thank my media team from Barbee Media Group, including Joel Brewer, Dr. Bill Chitwood, and our General Consultant and Media Director for the campaign, Jonathan Barbee. We couldn’t have done this without them. There are so many more people we have to thank–Britney Garner, Tyler Burns, Jim Steddum, Jeff Osler, Randy Hickman, George Trotter, Louis Coles, and of course, all of our Veterans–and we’re putting together a list of those who deserve special credit that we’ll post to social media.
“Now we’re going to take a few days off, but November will be here before we know it. We can’t get complacent, because the Democrats certainly won’t.
“Again, thank you all for everything you’ve done and will do to carry this district for the Republicans come November.”
Moore was endorsed by the House Freedom Fund, U.S. Representatives Jim Jordan (R-OH) and Andy Biggs (R-AZ), the Alabama Republican Assembly, Eagle Forum, American Workers Coalition, Christian Conservatives of Alabama, Veterans Leadership Fund, Alabama First Responders, Club for Growth, Alabama Representatives Mike Holmes (R-Wetumpka), Charlotte Meadows (R-Montgomery) and Terri Collins (R-Decatur) and Former Alabama Rep. Barry Mask (R-Alexander City).
