BARRY MOORE CONFIDENT IN PRESIDENT’S SCOTUS CHOICE
Washington, D.C. – AL-2 Congressional candidate Barry Moore expressed confidence that the Senate will act before the election on President Trump’s nomination of Judge Amy Coney Barrett to fill the Supreme Court vacancy left by the death of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg.
Barrett, 48, a Notre Dame Law School graduate, former clerk for conservative Justice Antonin Scalia and former Notre Dame Law School Professor is currently a judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit. She was confirmed to the 7th Circuit Court in 2017 by a vote of 55-43 following a tumultuous series of hearings in the Senate over her Catholic faith and strongly pro-life stance.
Moore said in a statement:
“I applaud the President for making this nomination now, as the Constitution mandates. I’m confident that the Senate will also take up Judge Barrett’s nomination in a timely fashion and not delay the process until after the election. The Constitution doesn’t state anything about waiting until after an election to fill Supreme Court vacancies, despite what the Democrats want us to think.
“I’m pleased that President Trump has chosen a strong pro-life woman for the Supreme Court. I’m also impressed by Judge Barrett’s credentials and experience. I am certain she’ll make an exceptional addition to the Supreme Court, and will serve us well for many years to come.
“We, as a nation, must act now by praying for President Trump, Judge Barrett and their families. They need to have a shield of favor and protection prayed over them. I truly believe we are in a spiritual battle for our nation and the Democrats will stop at nothing to destroy the character of Judge Barrett, as they’ve done for the last 4 years with President Trump.”
Moore is on the ballot in the general election on November 3rd for the AL-2 congressional seat. He is a Veteran, a small businessman, a husband and a father of four from Enterprise.
