Enterprise, AL–Congressman-elect Barry Moore has begun his orientation for new members of Congress and is encouraged by many of the people he is meeting.

Moore said in a statement on Thursday:

“Today was check-in for Orientation for new members of Congress. There are about 50 new Republicans from all over the country, and I’m looking forward to working with them. Heather and I have already met some fantastic people and are excited about new friendships and new opportunities to help Alabama and District 2.

“Even though we Republicans don’t have a majority in the House, there’re reasons to be encouraged. We have some true patriots in this new Congress. Orientation looks different this year because of COVID rules, but the Republican leadership has done a great job making it special anyway. Heather and I especially enjoyed attending the ‘come and go’ dinner tonight hosted by Reps. Scalise and McCarthy. I’ll be working closely with them and other members of the Republican leadership to promote our conservative values and stand up to Nancy Pelosi, AOC and their liberal agenda.

“As I rode to my first meeting tonight past the Capitol dome, I was filled with gratitude. I’m grateful for the trust the people of Alabama’s District 2 have placed in me. I will work hard to be worthy of that trust, on that you can depend.”

Moore will be sworn in as a member of the 117th Congress on January 3rd.
